It looks like your best bet for getting the replacement parts you need would be to go with a new # THKIT3039 fit kit.
I spoke with my Thule representative, and found out that unfortunately, they do not offer individual components of the # THKIT3039 fit kit as replacement parts. My rep went on to explain that Thule offers hundreds of different fit kits, all of them vehicle-specific, many of which use unique parts. It looks like Thule is responsible for making the roof racks on your 2008 BMW 5 Series.
Of course, I have heard reports that there were some that used a different roof rack. You should call your local BMW dealership with your VIN number to double check which you have.
